Studio Hart65 Allen Street, Buffalo, NY Three Painters Cynnie Gaasch, Ani Hoover and Kara Daving Studio Hart is pleased to announce a show of work by three Buffalo painters: Kara Daving, Cynnie Gaasch, and Ani Hoover, each well known for their daring use of color and abstract properties. An opening reception is planned for Friday, December 1 from 7pm -9 pm. The show will run through December 31. Ani Hoover’s drip paintings allow the medium its natural tendencies, creating graceful veils of interlacing colors. Ms. Hoover received her MFA from American University and BFA from Southwest Missouri State University and has shown extensively in the Washington, DC and Baltimore area, as well as locally at the Burchfield-Penney Art Center, Albright Knox Art Gallery, Castellani Art Museum, and Buffalo Arts Studio. Cynnie Gaasch plays with symmetry and gravity in paintings that talk about balancing imperfections and will present recent works of watermedia on paper. Ms. Gaasch received her MFA from American University and BA from Hampshire College. Her work has been shown her work in Manhattan, Boston, Washington, DC, and Vermont, locally her work has been featured at Gallery 164. Kara Daving will be showing selections of "Balloon Paintings" interlaced with environmentalist themes, the paintings are made of knotted balloons and brightly colored acrylic paint. Ms. Daving graduated from Bowling Green State University with a BFA. She is a resident artist at Buffalo Arts Studfio and her work has been exhibited at Big Orbit, CEPA Gallery, Albright Knox Art Gallery, and Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center. Studio Hart is located at 65 Allen Street, Buffalo, New York, between Delaware and Franklin Streets and adjoins Cafe 59. Open 10 am-2 pm, Tuesday through Saturday and by appointment. |
